So, I went to see an owlbear, but decided to send my familiar (a raven) forward first, to scout the way. The owlbear paid no attention to the raven - okay, I thought, surely it doesn't see a little bird as a threat. But then I saw it. The owlbear egg. And it wasn't even marked red, as the items belonging to somebody else usually are. Of course I tried to steal it. Don't ask me why, it's just an instinct. Picking up the egg didn't work - probably because the familiar doesn't have an inventory. So I just started
moving the egg little by little - DOS style - until I got it out of sight of an owlbear and closer to my party. Then my wizard grabbed it from the ground, commenting with something like "she will kill me for that". Now I'm an owner of an owlbear egg!
So, I think while it's okay for an owlbear to not mind the raven, it should maybe react to someone touching her egg?
P.S. Does anyone know what to do with an owlbear egg? Do I get a chance to see it hatch?
