Positive feedback. This is an example of where bending the 5E rules absolutely makes sense in a videogame, I believe, and I feel you did well to do so.
In tabletop, the DM can basically decide what (if anything) any of the corpses lying around have to tell the players, and if they 'skip' one by talking to another, it's not like they've "missed" something.
In a video game, this is obviously different, and insisting that Speak with Dead always consumes a spell slot as per 5E rules would be needlessly strict.
