They are absolutely fantastic. They look beatiful, they're intense, the size of the Nauctiloid feels clear and intimidating, the dragons are beautifully animated, it all just blew me away. It honestly gave me the same vibes that Blizzard cinematics used to give me. So awesome job to the team behind making those beautiful cinematic scenes. I hope we see more in the future!

True, the intro was cool... not very "classic high fantasy", but quite a ride.

Honestly it didn't need to be 'classic high fantasy' to me. Once you get mindflayers involved that notion sort of gets thrown out the window, I feel. Because mindflayers are more akin to lovecraftian fantasy than anything. But I honestly just love dragons, and there aren't enough high quality sequences where they're the 'good' guys. so it made me very happy to see them ripping up and burning that ship. smile

The cinematics and character models in this game are beyond gorgeous. Major props to Larian's team on that. Loved it.

You kidding me? We saw a Githyanki raiding party riding red dragons taking down a mindflayer Nautiloid, in the midst of a raging Bloodwar battle: You can't get more D&D then that! It hit's on every iconic setting, from Planescape to Spelljammer. The only thing missing from it, was Elmister, and the Seven Sisters blowing up a Netheril city in the background. laugh

Still, for a "fresh" start to a new Baldur's Gate story, it was a bit much... then again, BG3 also kind of is a sequel to Descent into Avernus, so I guess it was fine.
