Running into a unique issue that is only somewhat reproducible. About 85% of the time when I startup BG3 my screen is either black or remains fixed on the pre-startup desktop. Anytime I click my mouse the mouse becomes a circular blue wheel and an error prompt appears saying that the application is not responding to windows. At that point I have to end the BG3 process. Interestingly, this occurs for both DX11 and Vulkan at a fixed rate, does not change based on setting compatibility mode or administrator mode, and occurs in the absence of underlying anti-virus software. Furthermore, in the 15% of instances where this does not occur, my gameplay experience is more or less flawless with extended playtimes without crashes (>3 hours per session). Very frustrating that I can not get the game to boot properly in the vast majority of instances, however.
Hate windows 10 and really do not want to have to upgrade, but want to be able to play.
For reference, my drivers are fully updated w/ a GTX 2070 super, i7 processor, 32gb ram and using a non-SSD HD.
