So at least for me the BG 3 has been a crashing mess, even with the current hotfixes as well as using DX 11. But finally as of yesterday i have found the things that were causing crashes for me. Starting with turning off or uninstalling any and all overlay software. For me one was MSI afterburner which i have used for years for its OSD function and overclocking. Now even without activating so the overlay was active i would still get crashes very quickly with afterburner just running in the background, but once i uninstalled it i was still getting crashes but it took longer. Discord overlay has always been disabled i never use it so it wasn't that. Then i remembered the AMD adrenaline software has its own which i never use so i turned of that overlay function as well as turning off enhanced sync. After doing all this, i played for a solid two hours without issue. I can even play in vulkan now but eventually it will crash saying to turn off OBS, OBS isn't even install on my PC.
So it seems like in its current state at least for my system any kind of third party software that makes any kind of driver hook will cause BG 3 to crash. So as of now if i keep all this stuff off i can play in DX 11 seeming without issue. The hotfixes alone don't stop the crashing for me.
