Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems crash when loading saved game (1.42)

I have the 1.42 patch installed. When I'm loading my saved game, the progress bar gets about an inch and a half across and then stops; a few moments later the game crashes to the desktop. I've tried a few times, and the same thing happens each time. This hadn't been happening when I'd previously loaded 1.42 saves. I tried to load the save from a new game, and nothing different happened.

Is there anything that can be done?

Do you hear some 'dings' ?
Did you try to switch to desktop when it's stuck ?
Did you delete all the files in the savegame directory ? because 5 directories are not savegames but part of the game files in there.

No -- I can leave it completely alone and it'll still crash to the desktop.



No, I haven't. Both the directory for my save and all 5 bd_act*_start directories are there.

Did you ever use the 1.40 or 1.41 patches on your current game? Or is this a fresh 1.42 game?

I applied the 1.40 patch, played a while, then applied the 1.42 patch, played a while (including several save/load cycles), then had the problem.
