First off I'd like to say that I like the game, this isn't meant to be mean-spirited. I just noticed some things that created frustration.
1. Someone who is helped up loses their action. It essentially creates this cycle that the person who gets unconscious never end up contributing because the AI hard focuses them. And if they don't kill them outright, they keep downing them.
2. Which leads into number 2, the games difficulty. The AI is balanced like a new DM who thinks its their goal to kill the players. In real DND, if a DM hard focused an individual player, it would actually be quite easy to kill them, and that's what BG3 is doing. They just hard focus a certain character until they are dead.
3. The shove bonus action. Firstly, this should be an action but that isn't even my gripe. It's the ability to shove outside of the map borders, insta-killing the character. I had a Dwarf shove my character outside the map, killing them instantly and teleporting the body to camp. Shove needs to be an action, and heavily nerfed.
4. Upcasting. I should be able to click the level 1 Magic Missile in my hotbar, and select an upcast. Not have to hotbar the same spell for every level.
5. Not sure if this is intended or a bug, but Astarion always had 2 bonus actions? At level 4 I was able to main hand sneak attack, and off hand attack twice for a total of 3 attacks.
6. Put wizard cantrips back to normal. Firebolt is essentially useless in its current state.
7. Being knocked prone makes you lose your Action/Bonus action/movement? This kind of happened at random, but being knocked prone make me sometimes lose my whole turn, sometimes my character got up, sometimes not? It kind of behaved like the Knock Down CC in DOS2. This needs major attention as it doesn't work in DND.
8. Having to make each individual character jump across stuff. Man was this tedious and annoying. Needs better follow AI. including not having them walk into immediate danger.
9. LOS is finicky sometimes. I've been shot through walls and mountains, almost like there is a break in the model blocking their LOS that allows them to hit me. Oh also, magic missile should auto hit if in LOS, it can't miss or hit a wall like an arrow or something.
10. Sneak attack was just very confusing. Since there was a sneak attack button, I just always clicked that. However it should be something in the background that I don't have to click. It either applies or it doesn't. Also need to make it more obvious visually when it does or doesn't apply, since the hide mechanic in this game is finicky.
11. The dialogue skill checks needs a slight re-work. All party members should be able to contribute in conversations/ or party members should jump in when appropriate in a conversation or ability check.
12. Make spacebar skip dialogue and ONLY skip dialogue. Having the skip button and select button be the same is just silly. And along with that, make canceling conversations easier. So many times I mis-click and talk to Shadowheart and I rapidly click away but it's too late, then the spacebar issue comes in.
13. Sometimes it's difficult to see what your character noticed after a successful perception check, so a camera pan or some other fix would be welcomed.
14. Small change, but instead of having your bonus get lowered from the DC, have it added to the roll. There is mathematically no difference, but seeing the bonus is more satisfying, and seeing the bonus get bigger as you level gives a sense of progression.
These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. And I'm obviously not going to mention the abundance of glitches, as it's still Early Access.
So far so good Larian!
