Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Mid-dialogue saves disabled (lost progress)

Since Hotfix #2, game is repeatedly getting stuck in a state of thinking one of the players is still in dialogue, removing our ability to save and giving us little recourse to resolve it. It can persist for hours, and it doesn't only block our manual saves but the game doesn't autosave anymore either.

We've tried going to camp, having players initiate conversations they can exit, players reconnecting, different games with new hosts. We had one single instance where we kept playing for an hour or so and the problem resolved itself and let us save. Tonight we played like 3-4 hours without dying but we couldn't force it. At some point we decided to murder-hobo . Even that didn't fix it.

Losing hope for now. We've replayed sections of the game upwards of 4-5 times and just keep getting sent back to the early stages.

Is this in Multiplayer? My party has the exact same issue. Can't save at all because of this. A fix is letting every player start a conversation with a NPC, and then leaving. But there isn't always a NPC around to talk to. Fast traveling to camp to talk to NPC's is annoying when you cant fast travel back to the spot you were at.

Really need a fix for this!

You could theoretically go back to camp to always find NPC's waiting, but unfortunately that doesn't work in my case.

I've seen a lot of suggested fixes but nothing solid. Even killing ourselves doesn't work.

This is a recurring problem for my party - 2 human multiplayer. Tried talking to an npc with all - no luck. Tried logging other player and talking to npc - no luck. Tried sending companion chars to camp - no luck. Tried taking party to camp and resting - no luck. Replaying the same content over and over and trying to get a save in is a PITA. Party is taking a break - hoping for an update ... its Saturday...

Yeah it just keeps happening constantly to my group. Surprised this isn't affecting more people considering how often it happens to us, wish we could pinpoint what was wrong. We stopped listening in on each others conversations and opted for a multi-stream. It still happens to us anyways.

We've just all started over in single-player because we were losing way too much progress and assume this won't get fixed this weekend.
