So I've had one playthrough of the game so far and maybe I'll get my own question answered later down the line, but is there actually any incentive given for us to side with the goblins and attack the grove? From what I experienced, the only reason to do that is just to be evil, I wasn't presented with any way it could actually benefit me. It's probably even against my self interest since it would mean cutting off a potential way to deal with the mindflayer tadpole. Has anyone else been presented with a good reason to take this route? If not then Larian should probably find a way to fit in a better justification. Both for evil characters who want to be rid of the tadpole and for those who want to control it.

So i finished my first evil run end I can tell you they outdone any other game that allows you to roleplay as an evil character. First thing the grove what bad you can do there: let tiefling children die by the snake byte, then make a pact with tieflings to kill druids together.Plus you can help drow priestess kill everyone in the grove than you can have sex with her late at night end if you can persuade her she can become your ally end help you in future quest. Now answering your question why cure it let it inside become more powerfull bee THE TRU SOUL!! Set this word on fire let it drown in riwers of blood, make the charming dying screams be our hymn of victory. Khmm i got carried away, Larians they don't simply allow you kill every one they give you the chance to become villain with thoughts behind, plots of machination. Example the mersenary give you quest to retrive the chest so you go the kill some gnols then trase of blood gets you to the cave full of mersenaries siged by gnols. You can kill gnols save tham persuede to give you the chest done, or you can make gnoles kill all mersenaries than make gnols to turn on each ohter ufter force suicide the strongest one.

That is all really cool. It's good to know. I wanted to do an evil playthrough but I'm so bad at it that I didn't even realize that killing the people of the grove with the cultists help was an option until after it passed. But you still haven't really answered my main question; at what point does anyone make the case that keeping the tadpole and joining the cult is a good thing that won't just end with you turning into a mindflayer? That all sounds really cool and I realize that I missed a whole bunch of those quests because I tried to play a character who was just bluntly self interested and didn't involve herself in issues that did not directly benefit her removing the tadpole. That really killed my ability to engage in the game since it meant passing up a bunch of possible quests, but still I never got an actual "pitch" to join team evil. As far as my character knows, the cult is just a mindflayer trick that will end with her turning into a mindflayer.

Well after 18 hour run i haven't turned into mindflayer and i ignored end refused to cure at least 4 times. I was only accepting end wanting more power made my character THE TRU SOUL. Wich made me to think that I wont turn into mindflayer.

They probably should give you a stronger incentive to go bad there, it should be appealing in some way other than just "lulz lets murder everyone and have rivers of blood flow with my cult of personality".

But then you are given a guidelines with Astarion, who was "this powa, it will be mine!" route. Heck it would be easier to have a team of companions as of now with Astarion and Lae'zel clearly not giving much damn about anything but personal power in their own way and Shadowheart not being terribly interested in being benevolent soul either, being a Cleric of Shar, even if somewhat duped/gullible one as it seems, when it comes to her deity.

I do hope they make that path worth a while throughout the game, even if obviously they will spend more time doing the goodie-two-shoes route that 90% of players will beeline for.
