Sorting: Don't know how my save games are being sorted, but it isn't by date/time, and it isn't alphabetical. Makes it hard to figure out which is the most recent save. By time with most recent first would be best.

Possibly related: "quick load" doesn't always load the most recent save, or even the most recent quicksave. Is it loading from the top of the list?

Sometimes quicksave stops working altogether for a while. In these cases, my save game list seems to always contain a quicksave entry with .tmp at the end. Restarting the game clears this up, and normal save works fine in this case.

I've seen these problems in 1.32, 1.4 and 1.42.

Weird, I've done a lot of playing, with all the different patch versions (except the original), and have never run into any of those problems... My saves are sorted in time order it seems, and quickload does always load the most recent.

Saves should be sorted in reverse chronological order, but I've occasionally had one listed out of order when starting the name with a number.

Quickload should load the most recent quicksave, and is not intended to load a regular save. The quicksaves overwrite the oldest one, so they are not going to be in numerical order.
The quicksaves not working and producing a .tmp extension is either a bug, or something in the background or with Windows is interfering with the save process.

I take back my comment, I ran into the non-sorted thing today... Still haven't seen the quickload problem though.
