So far it doesn't seem to matter who jumps from which height. As soon as some minimum height is reached (even a single story building) you are prone and take damage.
Shouldn't there be some form of athletics skill check so some people can fall savely from greater heights than others ? Or have I always failed the skill checks and it isn't shown in the log ?

I am asking this because I can't imangine that it is intended that the athletics noob wizard can fall as far without taking damage as my mobile dex fighter. He should at least resist the prone effect with a greater chance.

I agree, a lot of my party members were using jump to get down from a cliff and they hit hard, took damage and went prone.

I haven't done this yet, but I would have assumed there would be some sort of skill/ability check to bypass some of the effects of the jump (go prone, take less falling damage,...)

The targeting circle you see when you use jump should have different color tint to let you know how dangerous that jump can be.

Your on a cliff, you want to jump down.

You select the jump action, the targeting circle pops up and depending on where you want to jump while using the cursor to pick a landing spot, the jump circle could turn yellow or red to let you know that the spot you picked to land on is gonna hurt or possible kill you.

You should still have some skill/ability checks on those rough landings and you should see the dice rolls on screen...I didn't ask them if they had any checks but will ask if it happens again.

Having different colours for potentially dangerous jumps sounds good. But so far the most important thing would be having any skill check at all.

Jumping from a height or falling should have an Acrobatics check to save for reduced or no damage. I don't see any such check right now.

You also can't stand up from Prone, it's just a complete loss of turn, even if you have half movement or more left.

Having my 16 Dex elf (drow) Thief land flat on her face FAR more often then not when jumping makes me wonder did I accidentally make the 9 Dex cleric in heavy armor jump not the thief?

Yeah falling is not implemented properly. I have jumped off massive verticals in the game and did not splat. I think it would be nice if the landing circle indicated threat to life with a color. And perhaps lingering effects from broken bones by hardcore parkour action.

The Proper way is:
D6 Damage for every 10 feet you fall
With that said to avoid falling prone its an ACROBATICS check to stay up

The only way to avoid damage from falling is from a spell like Feather Fall, Levitate etc

Or the Class feature of a Monk

I also feel like the Repelling Blast (Eldritch Blast upgrade) does not trigger fall damage in some cases? May be a bug

This. Pleeease. My real-life depth perception is (usually) way better than my in-game depth perception. wink
