I cast a level 1 sleep spell, which can sleep up to 24 hp of creatures according to the tooltip (instead of the 5d8 dice roll that the spell does in 5e rules). I ended up sleeping two 15hp goblins for a total of 30HP.

It's possible that you guys actually meant to do a dice roll, which at 5d8 can do 30hp if you're lucky, but if so it doesn't appear in the combat log.
