Currently, if I already have 4 party members, when I meet someone I can't take them into my party right away, but rather I must send them to my camp. Then, at the end of that day, I have to try to dialogue with the party member I want to fire, freeing up a party slot to take on the new character I actually want. Except some nights certain characters refuse to talk to me, for instance the Wizard Gale I want to get rid of refuses to talk to me and I therefore can't kick him.

This would all be very easily solved if, upon meeting a new party member, I could take them into the party and send someone other than them back to the camp. Please let me do that.

This is actually possible when they say the equivalent of "Looks like your party is full" and boot you out of the conversation. Just walk up to the party member you want to dismiss, tell them to go back to camp, and then you can return to the one you're looking to recruit and have them join then and there.

That is a great work-around, thank you. But it would be even better if, in the dialogue with the new person you want, you could tell one of your current party members to head back to the camp. I don't remember precisely if Baldur's Gate 2 had this functionality, but many party-based RPGs do.
