I've played a lot of D&D from 3.5e to 5e and I think the best thing about D&D is the varied classes and races and how they work together so, here's a chance to post your thoughts on what official classes and races you'd like to see show up in Baldur's Gate 3. To get things started, here are a few of my hopes for races and classes.
Classes:
Monk - Punching and shoving people is fun with a fighter but it quickly gets underpowered by the time your party is level 3 or higher. I want to pull off some crazy punching combos.
Barbarian - RAGE MODE! I love playing barbarians and I can't wait to see one in game
Bard - I'm mostly wanting this cause finding a D&D campaign in real-life that allows me to play this class is nearly impossible and I'd like to give this class a try
Sorcerer - Another class I don't get to use often as it's usually either banned or already taken by another player so I'd love to try it in-game
Druid - This I would love to see if for nothing more than the story side considering the druid's grove is a thing in EA you come across fairly early
Races:
Dragonborn - I love how Larian handled the lizards in D:OS2 and I'd love to see their approach to dragonborn lore
Leonin/Tabaxi - I love khajiit in elder scrolls and would love a tabaxi/leonin rogue
Satyr - Chance to try out your lute and mess with all the dames (just joking here but it would still be a fun race)
Orc/half-orc - I love playing these as it gives a chance to deal with internal and social conflicts which really works for character building
Obviously, Larian can't release every official class/race from D&D so they'd have to pick and choose which would be easier or appeal to the public more but, maybe this will give them some ideas on what people are looking for. I do ask that you keep suggestions to official stuff only, nothing homebrew and please keep things positive. People tend to be scared to ask for animal based races cause someone always gives the customary insult of 'Eww, a furry' when these are legitimate races and not everyone wants them for some niche community but just for the fact that they aren't a boring recolor of a human or an elf and look and act unique. At the very least, Larian could put out races and classes little by little and make BG3 something similar to a live-service game or release classes and races in DLC packs for extra money like D&D already does with their books. Anyways, post your thoughts, comments and so forth and enjoy.
