In D&D, Darkness is one of my favorite spells for many reasons, however, in this game, it has been butchered for me.

For one, Devils sight is not currently working with Darkness, which is obviously a bug that will get fixed, so sure.

However, I am unable to cast it like in D&D . For example, the light cantrip can be cast on your character, which seems to always be applied to the weapon, but alright. Darkness should also be able to be cast on something you are wearing, just like in D&D. Such as a belt, etc, and move with you. I do not know if this will be fixed or if it is intended.

And finally, the biggest issue i have with the spell, which essentially ruins the experience for the builds i want to make.. Why would you add an effect to the spell that insanely alters it? If you attempt to shoot into it, or while within darkness, try to shoot someone outside of it, there is now a magical barrier preventing attacks to be made this way. Why? If you were a warlock and chose devil's sight, stood in your darkness, and wanted to shoot someone a ways away, now you cant. I just really hope this is changed as it is still early, but I just do not understand lol, it has to have been intended..

I am crossing my fingers it will become the Darkness spell i love so much.

Definatly needs to be fixed to be like you said. why play a warlock if you don't have darkness working properly?

@soulstalker You know that you can play a warlock that neither casts darkness nor has devil's sight, but... I really agree with @Evades that darkness needs to be able to be cast on your weapon and so move with you.

I am not personally so worried about not being able to shoot in and out since I mostly make my warlock melee based, often with a great sword, but in principle I agree that shooting in and out should be possible. This will make you more vulnerable to archers/casters as they will then also be allowed to attack you albeit with disadvantage in contrast to now, where they just stand there doing nothing or moving in to attack with melee.
