This might already be on the menu, but just to have it said... the game needs more faces. Lots and lots of more faces.
I'm currently looking through the human female faces and there's not a single one of them I could imagine using. In fact, it seems like most races have only one, at max two faces that everyone i know who's playing is using.
Also calling out the playerbase for "being unimaginative" by making a white human guy as the most common is pretty damn shitty of you Larian, let people play who they want. I dearly hope you're not part of some anti white movement shit that's been going on in gaming for some time now.

Just unlocking the faces from the races would go along way, Half-elf and Tiefling have some nice ones I wish I could use on other races.

It's surprising how many special snowflake racists are on this forum, but considering how it's been moderated I understand why.

Seriously? They aren't shaming you, if you feel like they were then that's your problem, it's really freaking obvious that it was a joke about how bland some of the characters have been made so far. Hopefully they will add more character creation options down the line, but it's still hilarious that so many people literally just made a white human male with short black hair as their character when they have any number of other options to choose from.

We live in the most politically charged times ever. You need to be careful with shit like this. A large company's PR department should pick up on stuff like this and not let it slide through. The moment you start making comments as a company that puts you in one corner or another, you will have a problem on your hands. If you can grasp that concept or not doesn't matter, this is how reality is these days. To stay afloat, you need to do your best to keep your company as free of anything that can be even in the slightest be considered a political take on a matter.

I think The Techpriest raises a legitimate concern, as there is a lot of anti-white in the media and games these days. I think with Larian, this doesn't seem to be the case as far as I can see so far, though there is the Feminism going on a lot of the time.

It is great that Larian can see what paying customers actually want. If Larian really want to know where to direct their artistic resources, they should create in-game-launcher polls or something like that to say: Tell us what you want, and provide tick boxes. Produce those to order. It will delight the customers and reward people who bought the game.

For example, do you want a side-adventure in a? city, cave, castle, boat, different plane,
Which monsters do you want to encounter? orcs, gelatinous cubes, blink dogs, lich
Do you want a female companion to be? bossy, yielding, dizzy, voloptuous

Bang out the characters and scenarios...

Larian should trial this. I am sure it would help the studio and the game.

That would be a place to start, for sure. Would require some work perhaps, with ears and other race specific things. But, plenty of time before the game is out to make some changes.

No more topics about RL race issues, please. This isn't the place.

More faces will become available in time. Those that we have at present are sufficient for early access: it is not the complete game. If this bothers people enough then perhaps wait until more are available, but don't make it about RL politics.
