I got into Samuel's lair and began fighting the guards. I adopted a "hit-and-run" strategy, where I would attack for a few seconds then hit the exit, which I stood near, heal, then go back up into the lair.

I killed two of the guards, but when I went back up to restart the strategy with the other two, they were no where to be found. Instead, two red crosses appear on the mini-map, indicated they were "supposed" to be there, but they are not. No keys have been dropped, as I cannot access the treasure chambers in this lair, nor the lava room to leave the level. So I am stuck, with nothing to do but restart. Unfortunately, I don't have a save-game from before this occurrence.

I'm hoping I can send my savegame to someone in Technical, so it can be fixed. Otherwise, the game is going on the shelf. This is my third or fourth restart (due to patches), and I'm not restarting again. Very disappointing, as I was really looking forward to playing.

Please let me know if there is anything that can be done (and the e-mail address to send the save-game, if possible). I appreciate any and all assistance.

Regards,
Michael

you went through the entire citadel level from beginning to end without saving once!!!!??? (you've obviously never had a computer crash on you or power cuts)

it might be your strategy that caused the problem. good tactic to employ with normal monsters, but maybe bad with critical boss's and/or minions.

i think you send savegames to lynn or rat (moderators of the forum) the email address will appear if you click on their names and look in the profile

best send a private message to them first asking if its ok to send!!

I WAS using two saves, but saved on both of them while all this was happening, and before I knew there was a definite problem!

There are 5 quicksaves, and regular saves at stairways, etc is not a bad idea. Even without running into any bugs, you don't really want your only saves to be after you get into an impossible fight or go past an opportunity to find some secret treasure.
