Now, in the beginning of the EA I felt people were a bit harsh against Larian Studios by comparing BG3 to their earlier works and saying it feels more like a DOS3 than a D&D game. I defended Larian Studios and reminded people that there ofc will be some similarities but that the game in its core is completely different. Well...the more I play the EA and the more I read on, especially, the suggestion forum I feel that there is some truth to their complaints. A vital design flaw affecting pretty much everything. Larian has tried to incorporate the 5e rules into the gameplay, instead of forming the gameplay with the rules in mind.

People say the combat is too hard - That's because the encounters are designed around the environmental hazards and mechanics added or(unnecessarily changed) by Larian (i.e bonus actions that should be actions)
Casters need to take long rests after every fight. - once again because they burned through all their spells instead of playing it like Larian intended
The combat system feels like a step backwards compared to DOS2 - that's because the current system heavily influenced by DOS2 combined with the difficulty of the encounters don't go well with dice rolls.
Several class identities, especially rogues feels diluted - Once again because of the design choices around actions vs bonus actions for every class, made to make a more interesting gameplay in Larians pov.
etc etc etc.

Now I don't mind a developer putting their own flavor or twist on an already established IP, especially since it gets translated from pnp to crpg, but Larian Studios, that flavor is overtaking the whole dish right now!

So I came up with this witty analogy. A bit mean maybe. And maybe not so witty. But I feel it fits perfectly.

Wizardz of the Coast idea to give the license of Baldur's Gate 3 to Larian Studios could right now, judging by the Early Access in its current state, be compared to Martha Stewart asking Playboy Magazine to help her release her next cookbook, and Playboy, being what they are, decides to remove half of her recipes and fill those pages with pictures of naked women with a kitchen background. Technically it's still a cookbook, but I wonder how many interested in Martha's cuisine would actually buy it.

So Larian Studios, let Martha wear a classy night gown, showing a bit of skin, on the cover if you feel it spices things up, but keep her recipes intact.

This is just my opinion on the current version of the EA and is not really a constructive feedback more than what you can get from my comments. Which is why I put it in general instead of the feedback and suggestion forum
