Rangers need to have Some kind of bow, ranger class feature at creation..

It feels like rangers are glorified melee fighters.. Even wizards are given crossbow proficiency.. The only Race that rolls with bow skills is the elf, which I understand but.. Not all ranger archers are elven..

My dwarven ranger is waiting in the wings..

Ok, any race can be a ranger... and therefore any race can be proficient with ranged weapons.

The elf proficiency just allows you to be proficient with bows regardless of class.
Your dwarf ranger is proficient with ranged weapons my dude. That’s 5e

EDIT: to clarify, Rangers are proficient in simple and martial weps my guy. THAT INCLUDES RANGED WEAPONS. I think you just don’t get that

Rangers are proficient in simple and martial weapons. A shortbow is a simple weapon. A longbow is a martial weapon. Therefor, rangers are proficient with bows.

there is no ranged proficiency in 5e. If Larian added it then that will also need to be changed because it goes against the PHB completely.
