BUG - cross save Windows to MacOS

Initiating and saving games files on Windows platform then attempting to load game on MacOS (macbook pro 16 inch 2020) crashes; however can initiate new game with new profile on MacOS. Perhaps something incompatible with the save file specifics.


Mac OS BG3 steam client version: 4.1.83.6568

confirmed here too, same version and on Catalina 10.15.7 .
Can't open Windows saves but can start a new game from scratch (performance is better on my PC, but wanted to see if I could use my macbook air 2020 to play when I travel).

In case this is still happening, you may have seen this from the Mac developers (here) on October 15th:

Sorry right now the saves between platforms are officially incompatible.
They will be fixed as part of crossave/crossplay fixes.
P.S. This will invalidate existing saves I believe
