Not sure which way this is a bug but one way or another it is. In our party our gold has zero weight, but when you split gold the split gold suddenly gets weight. Not sure if the original gold was supposed to have weight or not but the fact we have zero then jumping up to 1 pound per 1k gold seems like something is broken somewhere. Anyone know if gold is supposed to weigh nothing or if it is supposed to have weight?

Weight in general seems to be broken. The weights of the items don't add up to the total weight my character is carrying.

OTOH there doesn't seem to be a penalty for carrying wayy wayy too much.

Also backpacks don't seem to make any difference (well, except for being able to more easily organize by category).

Encumbrance doesn't hit you til you have 2* your limit. eg 60 Limit, Encumbered at 120.
The only penalty for being over until then, is for people like Monks, who have more limited weight issues with the class.

What I did with backpacks is put it on my hotbar and fill it full of potions and scrolls. I click on it and select what I want to use easily. (Gotta remember to right click and use, otherwise you send it to your inventory S looting)

If your lift is 75 lbs you can carry 150 lbs of stuff. Its not encumbered till after you exceed the carry limit. (Yes its confusing)
