I want to preface this with an apology to whatever designer crafted these armor sets. Not meant to be an insult to their work, but I want to look badass, and the gear we find in-game for the most part doesn't make me look badass. Pretty much the only loot gear I liked was the scalemail, and the owlbear armor on females. The leather armor in particular is very, very boring looking. The companion armor (minus Shadowheart) looks really good, and I eschewed stats for appearance by just having everyone wear each other's clothes. Also, there is only one clothing model, the robe, in different colors. Should be a tunic+pants/skirt set at the least.

Please more cool looking armor!

I feel like I need a lot more clothing options, especially as a drow wizardess. I hope various armor styles and clothes will be added further along the game development. I kind of like the armor aesthetics so far, I just want more of them. Maybe dwarvenforged and elvenforged armors with different looks.

I'd like armor that looks like armor.

cant +1 enough, unfortunately this edgy, high-fantasy fancy stuff is the trend and Larian designer really like beign on that trend.

Is that a mod or is that default armor? I swear I played that game but I am sure I didn't come across this armor.

It is not a mod. It is a piece of Devil of Caroc from the first game that somehow found it's way into the Deadfire.

Will there be possibility to earn Ankheg Plate Mail?

Agreed with OP, though. That's the problem when jumping from small 2d sprites to full, detailöed 3d... one simple armor/cloth model per armor type just doesn't cut it anymore. POE did do quite well there with their semi randomly generated armor and color combinations. Right now I at least like the models that we do have... more then, say, the Dragon Age ones, but there is much room for improvement. Let's say, three or four different models by armor (and weapon, for that matter) type should be the minimum... preferably plus accessories like cloaks, backpacks, pouches, jewelry, scabbards, quivers, etc. etc. etc.

If I will find Ankheg on field then ok! I will make armor from his shells.

I'm going to be greedy. The same number of model variations as there are races
