Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Friends/Charm doesn't work

I tried using the Friends spell several times (both on myself and the diplomacy target), and do not seem to get advantage on my check. Charm Person also doesn't seem to be giving me advantage.

Friends needs to be cast before you begin the conversation, which i hope gets changed in the future in the form of an option to cast mid dialog lol. So far I've only ever see rolls in the game say advantage if there was one but you don't see both rolls ever. I personally think its suspect as a combat roll I've had with advantage rolled a 2. Like lets be real, 2 d20s rolled and 2 was the best?

I suppose its possible that the roll you see was the best of 2 rolls. But I doubt it.

I have been unable to make it work even with casting before the conversation.
I very much doubt it's giving me the best of two rolls; I've failed far too many 6's (should be a 94% chance with two dice, 75% with one).

The real question I have: Do these work for anybody?

Friends also has not worked for me.

The combat log in the bottom right should tell you if you rolled with advantage if you mouse over it. Does that work for you with convos?

Charm hasn't worked the way it should for me in combat. Mobs will still attack my character after being charmed.
