... 2. The quick save does not work most of the time. When I press "Ctrl-S", the game simply does nothing about 2/3 of the time. But, it occasionally quick saves for me. I can find no reason for this.
I've had the same problem (and this was a problem for me in DD, so I have assumed that it was due to my pc config). I've never had a problem with the quick load, but quick save works for just about what you said -- 2/3s of the time and then I have to go into the save screen manually and delete a file it creates called "quicksave3.tmp" (or whatever # the .tmp file is created in). That seems to get rid of the problem and I'm able to continue using the quick save feature without rebooting the game. Though eventually, the quick save ends up not working at all until I quit the game and reboot it.
I've not been able to find a reason for it either.
