First of all, I'm really impressed with the Early Access and I had a lot of fun with it. The implementation of D&D Rules is well done (maybe my Tiefling Character missed being a Sorcerer and Hellish Rebuke, but well...). I like the Quest Design so far, seems like the Outcomes of the Quests are "meaningful". Spoiler for the main quest as example:
Killing the "evil" druid leads to an uproar, sparing her leads to her poisoning and I guess you could save the child but hey, who likes children anyway.

But some things need some "polishing", in my opinion.

-UI
I find it pretty hard to find anything in my inventory, and I need a SORT button for weight, value, etc. And I'm not a big fan of the design of the inventory (splitting Character Inventory and Inventory is a little counter intuitive, and the inventory could use some runes or something? I don't know, it's just a bit dull. And maybe we could have some buttons for the spells we can cast at that specific level? Just having the spell slots does not really help in managing spells.

Lore:
Well, I play DnD from time to time, but you should think about an encyclopedia.
Lolth, Blood War... I know that's "common" in DnD terms but not everyone is from DnD or even then familiar with the Drow.
Pillars of Eternity 2 had this system were you could see crucial information on these events. I know that not every character is a historian but name dropping and hoping that everyone knows what NPC's are talking about is not the right way in my opinion.

Encounter:
Well there is just this one encounter I was really confused with. Why in the nine hells is there a
Beholder
in the EA? I believe that thing has a CR of 14 or something, that's way to strong to beat in level 1-5. Maybe there was a story to it that I missed but I was kind of surprised. On that behalf: How is the EXP system working? Convincing NPC's to do something does not net anything does it? But killing them does? I'm not a big fan of that mechanic, if that's the case I'll just persuade someone to let me through and push them of the cliff afterwards. (Not because I'm evil, I just want some experience points).

Story:

So we have our companions.
A ticking time bomb, a warrior from another dimension, a vampire, some guy possessed by demons...
My point is: Who the hell is Tev, or the PC if you don't play any of the custom characters. I want some introduction for my PC, where I can choose some background information and maybe meet possible allies or foes in the later game. Since we were all captured by Mindflayers and the PC comes from Baldurs Gate you could make an introduction like Dragon Age: Origins. With some Prologue before the first act to do some "fluff".

AI:
Sometimes it's a bit fuzzy to micromanage every party member if you want to jump somewhere, or if you want your whole party safe and sound on the other side of poisonous clouds. And I think I broke the AI a little in the
Goblin Keep, near the entrance. Just killed the horde of goblins from above.

So I guess these were the points I had to make, but as I said, I really had a lot of fun! Keep up the good work. I hope to see some other classes in the next updates!

I agree with the inventory issues, it would also make life a lot easier to have a potions case, a scroll case and a keyring. I would like to access all inventory when in camp. For example, if Gale has potions and he isn't currently in the party, I need to talk to him and ask to join, take the potions, talk to him and ask to stay at camp, talk to someone else and get them to join.

I'm hoping there is more to be added for the player character, which hasn't been implemented yet. Something like the DA:O would be incredible but even basic questions in character creation about your life before being tadpoled would be an improvement. More opportunities to express personality, their background, history, humour etc. Otherwise the player character feels bland in comparison to the companions.

Having said that, the game is very fun to play!

Further Background customisation would really be a nice little detail. Most importantly, please Larian, give us the possibilty to play at least a group of 5, so we are not restricted to a simple rouge-fighter-mage-healer line up!
As a fan of the old BG games i personally also would really love to have the possibility to use a similar structured and "stone-ish" UI. But, alas, thats just a small a detail, though it would bring back a lot of nostalgia with probably not so much effort.

However all in all it is, as chocamocha said, really fun!
