Hello! I am having a problem with random lockups while playing the game. I have tried resolution, color, options, changes and also reinstalled all my sound, video, and directx drivers to no avail. I have tried turning off fast write, among other bios/config changes. The lockups are completely random, as I have turned the game on and just left it idle for testing different settings, and it would last 15 seconds one time, 1 hour the next. I did a full ram test via Memtest. I really wanna play, but I am at my wits end here... any suggestions?

Thanks!!

AMD 3000+
Nforce onboard sound
MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR MB
ATI Radeon 9600 video
512 MB ram

Aye 1.42 was the first thing I did after installing, so then I tried just 1.0 and it still happened.

Sounds like a hardware related problem to me...and you really don't want my advise on things like that!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" />

Hope someone else can help... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

This sounds like a memory problem.
I used to have the same with several games that would lock up quite a lot, memtest86 gave no bad ram, but there was a tool from microsoft that did detect errors on the ram, after replacement it was fixed.

You can find the tool here:
