When I'm playing warlock, I’m usually just spamming Eldritch Blast, which gets a bit boring after a while. So, if you want to make warlocks more fun and tactical classes, bring back Eldritch Essence and Blast Shape invocations from NWN 2, which can be applied to an Eldritch Blast. You could even improve them further.

Eldritch Essences modify the damage or other effects of Eldritch blast. For example, Hellrime Blast deals cold damage and adds a dexterity penalty to the target. To make it even more fun, it could be changed, so that it can freeze targets.

Blast Shapes modify the range, number of targets, or area of Eldritch blast. For example, Eldritch Chain jumps from the first target to others.

So, if you use both Hellrime Blast and Eldritch chain, your Eldritch Blast would do some cold damage and freeze multiple enemies.

Overall, I think that Eldritch Essence and Blast Shape invocations would make Warlocks much a more versatile class to play.

This is supposed to be based on 5e, while NWN 2 is based on the 3.5 rules. They're 2 different rulesets and should stay that way, we already have 5e rules clashing with the devs trying to force Divinity rules in, we don't need 3.5 tossed in on top of that.

you get agonizing blast, and some others. not remembering what they are right now. though it is different then what your talking about. Also I tend to use hex, but warlocks in 5e are imo built around hex and eldritch blast. Unless you go pact of the blade, or pact of the tome. which are yet to be implemented.

Pact of the blade warlock is so much fun, one of my favorite pacts honestly. Besides Agonizing Blast I think the others are Eldritch Spear, which I don't see making an appearance in the game, and Repelling Blast which is already in and pushes the enemy it hits back 10 feet or something.
