So after playing for a few hours, I have most of the game figured out and want to start over. Am I missing the button to re-roll abilities n character creation? Because this roll is garbage. And no, I don't want to "just accept it", since I would have greater strength if I had been training to be a fighter, a stronger constitution, dexterity. While I wouldn't care about wisdom, intelligence, and charisma as much (As a fighter), it doesn't mean that I wouldn't have those stats at a decent number, too. I just know that some people are going to tell me to suck it up and live with the numbers the game gave me, so I was heading that one off at the pass.

It just seems like either a glaring omission, or something I'm missing. The one thing the game needs is better tooltips and a better tutorial for sure. There are a few headaches in the game, but so far, I'm pretty happy. hehe

There are no rolls for abilities. If you go to the abilities tab in creation, you will see +/- symbols next to them.

BG3 uses a point buy system for abilities. You generally start of with 8 points in each and 27 points to spend.
Some things modify it like racial traits. Also the game presets 'recommended' stats but you are free to change them
at creation.

Not only that, they are the exact same ability numbers every time, 14, 10, 13,11,15,12. WTF? That's not even a die roll. That's just preset numbers.

Yeah, I see the +/-, but I've never had to use pre-determined numbers before. It's one of the cool things about building your character in the first place. And I swear, Larian had said that you would have the option. Weird. This would definitely go in the 'Don't like' column if it's the final say in this part of the game.

Oh well... That list is smaller than the 'Like' one at least.

Ahh oki. I never watched all the videos entirely so I'm not aware of them saying that.

I just thought you may have been confused from the change in BG 1&2.

OK, found it. This is just a copy/pasta of text from a Reddit page, but yeah, they say that you should be able to roll:
They have stated that rolling stats and point buy are options

"Ed: Can you roll for stats? How will that work?

Walgrave: You can! In the character creation, you can accept what’s there or you can use the point buy option, or you can roll for stats. We’re going to implement I think two or three different ways of doing it."
