Going to apologize in advance if someone has already made a thread about this, I don't have the energy to sift through everything.

I have a few concerns with the Ranger Beast Master companions which are by in large extremely useful but there's some .. weird things going on with them.

First off the bear, 19 HP, 11 AC, 15 Str, 10 Dex, 14 Con, etc etc ... (also weighs 5000lbs which is five times that of a Bulette and even the largest bears only reach about 1700lbs, but that could've been someone adding an extra 0 where there shouldn't have been one since it's using Black Bear 5e rules and black bears are tiny.) The tooltip for bear claws is 1d8+0 damage, which doesn't make much sense considering the +2 strength it has, and in general it's just far less tanky for the companion that's supposed to be a tank than the spider.

The spider has 32 HP, 14 AC, an attack that does 1d8+3 damage along with poison, can web an area from 60ft for crowd control and can leap 67ft along with an incredible move range. There's just no reason to use the bear other than for it to AoE taunt and then get instantly killed because it's so flimsy.

The spider is taken from the CR 1 Giant Spider rules I'm assuming, where the rest of the companions are CR 1/2 or even 1/4 and the gap in power really shows.
How it's balanced really is up to you guys I figured I'd just point it out. While I'd like to say "hey bump up the rest of the animals as well, ranger in 5e BLOWS they need this" I'm not sure how everyone would like that, and ranger seems to be not terrible in this which is a good enough change from 5e. So perhaps tweaking the spider down to a level playing field with the rest of the animals would be the best course of action.
