First, sorry if i cant explain myself properly. Apart from not being a native english speaker i have difficuties explaining myself, and what i want to say its a little bit difficult to word. Please suggest any editing to improve teh clarity of my text.

So, one of the big differences between BGII, PoE, Pathfinder: Kingsmaker, and BG III/DoS III are the maps.

I mean, in the firsts, you usually have a "big campaign map" where you can find a lot of small/medium sized "points of interest". In BGIII what you have is a campaign map with a few "huge" locations.

In this game, you will level up to level 5 or 6 on the same map. In other games you will have 1 minimap for the druid circle, other minimap for the goblin fort, other minimap for the auntie, other minimap for the old church.

Of course one of the questions is, "and which is better?" IMHO, probably the best is to have a "1 minimap for dungeon" approach. Of course this depends on what do you like, but i would like to put some thoughts in this:

- It may depend a little bit on the combat approach: In Pathfinder and D&D there is an "attrition approach" in the sense that you expect that your party will face 4-6 encounters of your same level (challenge rating). In this context a "1 minimap for dungeon" would make more sense. You can have long rest in the minimaps, so the goal is to clear the dungeon without resting (except short rest).

- The small minimaps approach makes "more sense" to the map. I mean, now the map its overfilled. You can be speaking with a druid leader and 10 meters behind him having the goblin boss. If the maps were bigger, and with more distance between critical places" (e.g. witcher 3, where you need to walk a little bit from lets say, the village to the soldiers fort) would give some "coherence" to the story. Right now you have lof of stuff going on in a very tiny place, and this makes the game a little bit confusing and axfisiating.

- In addition, you have the goblin fort at 35 seconds distance from the druid circle. This affects the game coherence, imho. It would make sense having another point of interest in the map at 12 hours distance, this also will explain how the heck the goblins didnt find the fort.

- Finally, i find this minimap a little bit "laberinthic", is not a big deal, but somehow reduces my "game enjoyability" compared to maps in Pathfinder kingsmaker, which are more simple, and where somehow, i can get much better whats going on.

Opinions?

I would prefer more maps but smaller.
