I want to say that as of this early access, the way each character perceives light in caves, caverns, attics, basements, cellars and so on and so forth is absolutely amazing, and provides an amazing opportunity to use those spells that otherwise wouldn't be useful.
I would even go as far as to make certain places even darker even to characters with dark vision (which is, I believe, supposed to be colorless or something along those lines, as per the rules as written, but I could be wrong) to really encourage players to prepare spells that help deal with low-light environments.
It's probaby the most original feature I can think of that REALLY gives exploration a newfound appeal. I just hope Larian believes in its potential and doesn't cheapen it by making drows and elves just completely fine even in total darkness.
Now if only the game could have a day and night cycle to really make that feature a core part of the overall experience, it would be an absolute marvel.
