The 5e ruleset works for DnD and has had many years of progression to get to where it is, it gives a balance of offense and defence and a choice on which to do each round, this game in its current state has picked and chosen to remove features (example dodge action), give features (everyone can disengage as a bonus action instead of just rogue), and remove what feels in DnD like a tactical decision rather than a why wouldn't I attack every round mentality.
Baldur's Gate 3 is not DOS and DOS is a good game but what I and hopefully others were looking for was something different to DOS that closely resembled how DnD works (ruleset) instead of a DOS playstyle which we already have in a good game.

There are MANY things I did not mention in 5e ruleset that differ from this game and it might be near impossible to replicate them all into 1 game especially this late into development but please at least get the fundamentals right.
