Tip!

Use minor illusion to make them walk to an empty vision spot, go into timed turn mode, quicksave, pick pocket, success! Map -> camp, wait, return from camp to the spot.

HOWEVER I have noticed in the new patch that people in the druid area - both blacksmith and hobbit - even if you vanish INSTANTLY can set an aggro status on you permanently (this is regardless of the map travel thing, theyll aggro you from across the map). So, between quicksaves run into the tiefling pit and make sure the guards dont murder you.

What is the problem you are solving? Does your proposed change solve the problem? Is your change feasible? What else will be affected by your change? Will your change impact revenue? Does your change align with the goals and strategies of the organizations (Larian, WotC)?

I haven't tried with minor illusion, but from something I learned in DO:S2 I used 1 team member to talk to them (keeps em facing 1 way) and another who was unlinked to pickpocket em. After I got the item I booked it and they yelled about stuff but didn't aggro anyone. The guard that came over and talked to them and then ran off walked right by me (not stealthed). However, this was a few days ago, so can't say if the behavior is changed. Figured I would do more stealing on my less-good playthrough next time. smile

Use guidance cantrip when pickpocketing (+1d4), switch back and forth to wanted item before stealing it, you'll see your bonus roll changing the needed roll each time you select it. :p

I like their changes to pickpocketing. Not just a free-for-all now. You can agree to go to the druids prison if you get caught, but if they see you again they'll put you back in unless you talk your way out. Be sure to claim your gear from the prison chest too....

Is invisibility supposed to stay when you are pickpocketing? I got into a habit of sending invisible rogue to steal everything not nailed down before each combat. Especially for the mobs that are not hostile right away. They keep running to your other 3 characters they can see where you just say that you have nothing to do with it.

Pickpocket isn't an action, technically, its a skill check. So it shouldn't. I havent tried it so I havent seen if it lowers the DC. Is invis an auto pass?

I robbed both of them earlier today without this happening.

I unchained Astarion from the rest of the party and robbed the Blacksmith and ran away in stealth mode after grabbing 2 items. The blacksmith was shouting but no guard came. Next I stole 2 more items with my unchained ranger and also ran away in stealth. This time a guard came running towards my 2 other guys but no aggro on any of the 4 party members. I even sold back the old items I previously had equipped for good measure.

Note no timed turn mode or camp teleporting were used.

It was acting super buggy when I did it on the blacksmith. He just scrolled "ill get you!" text infinitely fast and never moved again. So I walked my dude in there let them all kill him, I rezzed him, reputation was reset. Only time its happened in a lot of playing. The time stop is mainly for goblin camp trader as hes hard to pickpocket. The illusion gets him out and you timestop to save yourself the annoyance!
