So I completed one playthrough, and it was very quick, as expected. During the camp celebration thing, even those companions who never travelled with me or usually disapproved of my choices wanted to sleep with me. Think this is a bug so writing about it here. It broke immersion a little considering how good the companion system is. Takes me back to old dragon age origins. So how's everyone else playthrough coming through?

Well, there are several threads here saying the companions are cun...s and worse, so It seems there are mixed opinions in the matter.

I think by friendly they mean want to have sex with you, not friendly people. And yes, it's very weird, it happens all at once, and they initiate this dialogue even if they won't sleep with you just to tell you that "oh, by the way, you ain't gonna get any", in a very passive aggressive manner. If you are not interested in me, and I never showed interest in you why suddenly, out of the blue you tell me how unworthy I am to spend the night with you. People don't talk like that lol

It is done a lot better in BG2 or DOS2...thanks to the written word.
Now having "cinematic dialogues" instead of the true and tested top view dialogues it just looks clumsy, unrealistic and incredibly cringey if your over 30.
Games with these types of dialogue age very badly and often becomes memes after a couple years...Even now there are plenty of hilarious moments...

I had wondered at first if it was just to open up for a chance to let us see the romance/sex option that they tried to sell for BG3, but then the sex scenes aren't even finished. I agree with you. It was weird. I literally had no chemistry with anyone save for Asterion and Gale up to that point, so anyone else wanting to bone just felt weird and surprising. DAI did companions extremely well, while this just feels disjointed.

I think people are confusing "those characters wants to have fun" with "those characters are in love with me". In all cases, you need a certain level of approval.

Lae'zel has a banter where she talks about being into carnal pleasures with Wyll. She just want to have sex to celebrate the victory. She goes for "you are missing out" if your approval isn't high enough because she's an arrogant overconfident self-centred person.

Wyll flirt with both Lae'zel and Shadowheart in party banter. I'm really starting to think the guy wants to be a known hero so he can bang all the girls he meet at this point.

Astarion is a sleazy charlatan.

Gale requires getting a scene before the party that is romance oriented to get anything.

Shadowheart invite you for a night of talking and wine drinking. She's is in a good mood and want some company. And she might regret it the day after (I think that depends on approval, I haven't tested it thought). It is also conditional to a story decision. Her scene works very well for "just friends" too.

Just buy them a sex toy, problem solved.

Can't wait for custom companions already.

I do find it odd that people trying to find a cure for mindlayer tadpoles swimming in their brains have time for sex.

Hmm. 57 here, and if it's an unsolicited pick up line, it's neither more, nor less cringeworthy if it's in text or a cutscene. In fact, it's not all that noteworthy at all, off the top of my head. Maybe it's because I'm not from "Polite society"? Perhaps it's because in the crowd of people that I grew up with/ran with over the years there were a whole lot of "boy, if I weren't married/attached, I'd let ya' hit it" kinds of discussions? It's funny, because one of the girls at one of the clubs I used to bounce at used to play "Never Gonna Get It" to me all the time, and then we'd sit around and laugh about it, because neither one of us was looking to get on, but it was a fun back and forth while she was on stage.

53 and happy with in-game flirting and sex. It's what makes the world go round and there's no reason to suppose that a fantasy world would be any different. There are people who step away from sex and its associated behaviours, but mostly we are strongly influenced by our hormones.

Why not? It's classic nihilistic behaviour. What price ethics and conventional morality when we might only have days to live?

I'm also sniggering childishly at your particularly appropriate typo.

You kind of can if you make a LAN game and then join it yourself.

Exactly, this was what I was wondering about. It breaks immersion tbh. Hopefully it's just a bug.
