I don't know if this was adressed before (probably it was, there's 97 pages of threads, and counting), but I find the fact that you can't have your familiar and animal companion both summoned at the same time a bit dissapointing. I played D:OS 2 countless of times before, and I understand that there summons needed to be balanced, because of how powerful they could get. But here, there's no skill tied to summoning, and let's be real, the familiars are a little lackluster in a fight. Taking in account that the main reason someone may have a familiar in 5e be it for using the sense of the familiar, make them use the Help action, or to cast spells through the familiar, and none of those options are available in the game (and that's fine, I don't mind the extra utility familiars have in combat, with the crow being my fav) but I feel that, if they give you the option to have both a familiar with the Animal Tamer feature and then the animal companion with the Beast Master subclass, you should be able to use both at the same time. Not letting you having both summoned feels cheap, and the fact that you can't (for now) respec your character, it may leave the player with a sour taste in their mouth. I sure felt like that.

Did anyone else feel the same way? I know that having both familiar and animal companion with you at the same time can tip the balance in your favor, because of action economy, but let's be real. By the time you can get your animal companion, it can be one or two-shoted by most enemies, and your familiar only has 1 hp. And the fights have being kind of brutal in the EA. Having both creatures with you at same times shouldn't be that game breaking. Or maybe change how Animal Tamer works, I don't know. Maybe the feature could give you Animal Friendship as a spell know, and not counting against your maximum number of spells that you can learn (as many other class features in 5e works).

I know is nothing to really spill the beans over. I mean, it only affects a particular combination of class features and subraces. But the option is there, and you kinda feel cheated when that happens.

English is not my first language, so any mistakes in grammar or something like that may be expected.

If nobody came from the future to stop you, then it's not a bad decision.
