First I want to say I love the game so far. Keep up the great work. But. I have some issues with the game.
Environment attacks and barrel bombs. They are a "must use." Simply put, this I don't like. They feel forced. Battles are stacked against you - use environment/bombs is ALWAYS the answer. This takes away from the character your playing and your party.
High ground - Too powerful for both player and enemies. The bonus/negative you get is just much to high. You can go up a what seems like one foot and you go from a 65% chance of hitting to 85 90. Get some good high ground and you're rolling 98% every time and their archers just can't touch you.
Disengage - I have a huge problem with this ability. It's down right OP. It should be an action, not a bonus action (unless you're a rogue/thief) There is really no penalty for players or npcs to just disengage/jump to the high ground and pump an arrow into your face. Why have attack of opportunities then? If you make it an action, your making a decision to get away at the cost of your attack.
Disadvantage notification - OK, this is key. SHOW us why we have a 45% chance to hit one target but a 98% on another. I know some of the disadvantages is elevation, visibility, armor class, saving throws. This goes the other way too. Why can their archers always hit me. Display this in their rolls.
Jump out of combat - If everyone is chained and our main character uses jump to get across something, allow this to be chained to everyone else. It's quite the hassle to manual jump everyone. Quality of Life change that needs to happen.
Long rest - as much as I love just going to camp in the middle of the goblin camp, it just doesn't make sense that I can do that. Some areas should be blocked from just going to camp then magically appearing back to where you were.
Short Rest - we should get 2 per day.
Enemies with throwables. They seem endless. Sure some of it never group your team up. But come on, having 5 goblins chuck fire bombs at one of my characters then the archers rain down arrows just feels bad man. Out of place. Tone down the amount of ranged attacks. With them having (going back to it) High ground, it just seems like they can Hail Mary a bomb from the other side of the battle.
AI targeting - this I don't understand at all. The enemy seems to pick one target (usually the wizard) and proceed to nuke him down every round. I don't know how many battles I have won because I sat my cleric next to him and raising him whenever it's her turn. The AI always goes back to him.
Now on to good things.
I will preface this with saying I have most of my hours in Warlock with my assumption being my companions on how the other classes play. Warlocks/mages are the best atm due to High Ground.
So far, the detail you all have put into "What happens if this happens" is amazing. I hope all of the game is like that. I won't spoil anything but if that boy dies in the hands of the druid. Some interesting things can happen.
Animations - God how I love E blast from warlocks. Sounds/looks amazing. I can't say their is one animation I don't like. Same goes for sound. I was blown away at the mind flayer sounds.
Beautiful world.
Knock backs- Such a great thing.
Character creation -It's pretty good, but allow us to change the size of our champion. I may want to RP a short fat dwarf who loves food that takes long walks in the woods. Or a tall slender female.
