Hello everybody,


The issue we were experiencing (using Steam)

The game kept freezing for about 4 seconds about every minute (for my friend) and every 5 minutes for me.


We tried many things, but this is what worked for us eventually:

1. Turning off Steam Overlay for the game
2. Settings the exe files (bg3.exe, bg3_dx11.exe, LariLauncher.exe) to Run As Administrator (right-click the file, choose Properties, goto Compatibility tab, check 'Run this program as administrator').

We're not entirely sure if step 2 is necessary. More testing is needed.


But the game seems to be working great for us right now.

We also see some improvement to the overall fps in general.

I'm curious to see other's answer to this. As in the other thread,
- installed with Galaxy (GOG)
- forced to run bg3_dx11 directly and as admin since otherwise it won't start (see many threads with that issue)

=> so no overlay, but those freezes have been there from the beginning, no matter if the party moves or not, no matter if that's in the game or just in the main menu, or in the options, it just freezes randomly but quite often, each time for 3 to 20 seconds
