well, pretty self explanatory, whenever i press test or apply and run or just runt the game i get an error

thanks for the help, but i doubt that is the problem as i dont have divx installed, it says configtool cause a page fault or somesuch thing

Did you shut down all non-essential programs before installing the game and patch, and before trying to run the game?

Jurak had a similar problem, but re-installing and skipping the DirectX instalation fixed it;
DIV caused an invalid page fault in...

it says: configtool caused a page fault in module slash1.dll i have no idea what that means.
i have a anthalon2800, gforce4ti4200 or sum such and 512 ram

hmmmm, i have no idea what a dxdiag is, you want what the windows error is under "details"? if not i might need some direction.

It's Direct X. You can type that In the Run menu..

More specifically, click on Start | Run, type in dxdiag and hit Enter.
