After getting the skill I was able to convert one stack of arrows. Since then right clicking on a stack of normal arrows only shows a greyed-out convert option. I tried sleeping, thinking it's only available once per day, but that didn't work.

Hm, the char with this skill should either be leading or in single mode. And this char should have the arrows, too. BTW, which ones did you convert? And as splitting and normal arrows look very similar => are you sure, you chose normal arrows?

unfortunately, I chose to restart and don't have that skill anymore, but I'm sure it was the leader and selected becasue I tried a stack in both inventories one after the other. I'm also pretty sure that they were normal arrows, but since no-one else chimed in with the same problem, I assume I missed something. thanks for the help.

Try selling the stack of arrows and buying them as the character that has the skill. I've had the same problem with 1.43 but this fixes it for me every time. Just giving you something to try when you buy the skill again <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I had the same trouble, but it didnt happen all the time; what fixed it for me was having the person who had the skill leading both characters. Then I could usually perform the skill from whomever had the arrows.
