Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Suggestions & Feedback When an NPC dies before you meet them

So I am at the part where you have to fight off the Goblins at the gate and down comes Captain Fabulous (Wyll). My party and I do a good job of keeping the other NPCs alive but Wyll, well Wyll didn't make it. He tried to take on a Bugbear all by himself. I thought maybe I could revivify him but that only works on party members. Is this going to be a problem? I know he's supposed to be one of my companions and I don't want to be dragging his body everywhere. Also does this affect the possible storyline of saving Halisin (might have misspelled that name, the Druid guy). Let's have a moment of silence for Wyll, the Red Shirt of Baldur's Gate.

Wyll died at the gates in my playthrough as well. You can still save Halsin.

The very first time I got to the grove gate and fought the goblins, Wyll died from firebolt splash damage, and the Worg chewing on him. But after that, I was able to keep him alive for the most part. Gale is the one who seems to get mushed on a regular basis on my end. Enough that I'm seriously thinking of not having a wizard in the party. :P
