It's only supposed to cost half your movement, but if you go prone during your turn then you lose your whole turn. Being knocked over is not supposed to be that big of a deal and it can get really problematic.

I am assuming it is something that isn't properly implemented yet, based on the fact that the tooltips are consistent about saying that it costs half-movement to get up from prone.

Also knocking an enemy prone seems to have no impact on them sometimes

This also happens with frightened: you're *supposed to only have to use your movement to run away, but the game also prevents you from taking any actions/bonus actions.

It seems like they've set conditions to overwrite entire turns, likely a legacy from DOS. Hopefully they plan on fixing these.

I have noticed a lot of attacks show an animation for them going "prone" then standing back up right away. EG: Eldritch blast that pushes them, the fall "prone" then stand up.

I wonder if this will just add to the confusion, they shouldn't play the prone animation otherwise it visually wont make any sense with the condition prone.

Frightened raw does not make you run away at all. Only the spell fear does that.

Frightened Condition:
-A frightened creature has disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls while the source of its fear is within line of sight.
- The creature can't willingly move closer to the source of its fear.

Define supposed to....

Because I feel like if we gave axes out at the next NFL game, it’s not going to end well for the first guy who falls down

Oh yep I've seen this too. Does someone know what happens (in the game) when a creature falls and takes falling damage? RAW they're supposed to be prone, but I could see Larian coding it so that they get right back up...?

Yep you're right. More evidence that Larian just copy pasted some conditions without implementing the actual 5e rules. Though tbh I'm fine with being forced to run away, it makes enough sense. But I do want my actions!

Mobility feet exists for that reason. If your having issues with being prone I might suggest you look into it.
