I have been playing DD for some time now and was wondering what the different color text on the weapons and armor meant. I usually used to see blue name text, but now have found yellow, green and (I think) orange. I would assume this means that the weapon is special in some way. Just wanted to know this for future adventuring. i found one weapon called the Swift Sword. Took it off the body of the Black market guys below Riverton in the sewers. Is this a unique weapon? I love this game. Geeting alot of enjoyment out of it. Can't wait to finish and start my necromancer character.

Yep, the Swift Sword is a unique weapon by its name, not by its stats (those are randomly generated, as always), but it always has something good.

The colors describe various forms of goodies, like enchantment slots (yellow IIRC), skills (orange?) or attribute and resistance bonusses

They do relate to their quality.
[color:"gold"]Gold for level 5 items. These are usually quest items.
[color:"yellow"]Yellow for level 4 items. These are placed specifically, sometimes quest items.
[color:"green"]Green for level 3 items. These are placed specifically.
[color:"blue"]Blue for level 2 items. These are available as random drops and from merchants sometimes.
[color:"lightgrey"]Grey for level 1 items. These are readily available.
[color:"white"]White for basic items.

It's been a while, but I think this is correct. The level refers to the Identification level which also relates to how many bonuses the item has.

Thanks, that was all I needed. Well, I have joined the theives' guild and am now in the sewers under Riverton. Wish me luck.

Hey Greyfax, how do you make a necromancer character?

As phantoms we have fled the basalisk of day, to rise as pheonix taloned, nightly taking prey.We rule like the red and risen moon upon the sea, The stars of judgement silent, for we share joyous, Eternity.

A necromancer would primarily use the Resurrect and Aura of Command skills. That is a playing style, rather than a character class.
