Here is my problem.

I installed and re-installed DD twice. The second time I even re-installed Dir X 8.1.
When I start DD and it go's into configuration it won't let me use the reset buttong or use in-game settings etc. So I choose Direct 3D which shouldn't be a problem considering I'm running this on a 2.4 Gig PC with a Radeon 9800 Pro.
Then I choose run test and it says will return to desktop in 10 seconds etc. The screen go's black and returns to the desktop but the app is still running.

But nothing seems to be happening. So I try running without the test the game starts and I can hear it and see it on the task bar, but each time I try to click on it the screen go's black for a second and takes me back to the desktop. Somehow it must be conflicting with something on my PC? I can run all the newest games, Far Cry, City of Heroes, Sacred etc with no problems. But this one just won't let me in. In fact I can even run the Beyond Divinity demo with no problems.

This just won't let me past the configuration screen. Any suggestions? I hear there may be a comflict with DivX? I have the latest DivX, what should I do?

There are separate forums for Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity.

In DD there is a problem with some Radeon cards/drivers and the configuration program in Direct3D, but if you skip the test (check the 'skip test' box, then hit 'test' and 'apply & close') the game itself works fine.

Check the DivX Player, and see if there is an option you can unselect about the program associating itself with .div files. This appears to be a problem in BD (though the game should not be using Windows' file associations, and the DivX player should not be accessing .div files without being told to do so).
