I think equipping something from the inventory screen should cost at least a bonus action. It feels like cheating that I can get an offhand attack whenever I have an extra bonus action available simply by equipping two light weapons to my 2-handed fighter whenever I want.

Also, while it makes sense from a QoL pov to allow items to freely be moved around between characters out of combat, during combat it should probably be limited to people nearby...

They need to do a complete cheese removal pass on the game. The Cheddar is oozing all over.

End of turn shield equips, Greatsword + offhand attacks, Stealthing in plain sight outside "visibility range", using and moving items from anyone's inventory in combat, equipping armor in combat, free backstabs every turn, permanent advantage by stacking crates from inventory as another free action...

Bonus Shoving everyone off ledges and Disengaging feel really cheesy too.

If you have shield proficiency and a candle then this inventory shuffle gets kinda extreme.

You can throw candle on the floor, light it, dip your weapon, put i back in inventory. Attack for +1d4 on the dipped weapon then swap to shield before turn ends for +2 AC.

Not sure what the best way to solve it would be, I feel like it makes sense to be able to swap your weapons once in a turn but to swap them, then use them, then swap back - seems a bit wrong.

+1 equipping/dropping something from the inventory and possibly swapping weapons to be bonus actions or limited in some other way

A candle bursting a metal weapon in flames is just plain cartoon stuff to begin with. Out with it, please. All of the dip stuff is completely over the top, actually.
