Trying a Mage this time. On the elemental focussed missile attacks do you spread point on all 4 of them or concentrate on just one or two?

I spread points on all four of them. Some creatures are virtually immune to one element - nothing in the game is immune to all four. It's the only combat spell I used, and the only one I needed.

If you spread the points, the overall damage is a lot higher too.

you can check the tradeoff between increased mana and increased damage after applying the point, before you confirm it by clicking the checkmark.

The short answer is, as you spend more points per element, you get a higher damage per unit mana increase. It makes a lot more sense to put all your skill points into one element. I have six points in air, and my spell does around 70-100 per shot at a cost of around 90 mana.

Putting one point in each will result in a much lower damage at a much higher mana cost.

But, if you encounter a monster that has immunities to one element, you'll be better off with the points spread. Personally, I don't think it's worth it, but that's the tradeoff.

At the end of the game, my Mage had 6 points in Air, Water and fire, and 5 points in Earth.

Mana cost: 372

Damage Air/Fire/Water: 71-154 each
Damage Earth: 52-112

Total damage: 265-574

Nothing lasted for long against that, I assure you <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
