I am in the middle of my second play through, and decided to go all the way chaotic evil.
To me it is difficult to play a real chaotic evil play trough because :
1°) your companions keep disapproving what you do, but still follow you and don't really confront you. It just feel bad and forced to me.
2°) i am concerned about the impact on side quest and XP that this route procure.

Maybe a fix would be able to recruit new companion that are more... chaotic evil ? there is a certain charm, in doing evil things, and not being able to fully trust your powerful ally . I mean, if you want to allow player to be the bad guy, go all the way please.

Lae and shaodw actually dont disagree all the time, Gale isn't too moved against you, astation is kinda evil anyway.
actually finished the evil route with all of them at least neutral to me or 1 level higher in reputation.

The exp gain for evil is far higher than the good side.

Your companions do disapprove of your action but mostly they will disapprove of how you say things as well. That and Lae pretty much disapproves of everything you do, so dont sweat it.

Chaotic Evil is harder than lawful.
Less traders alive haha.

Your side quest progression is semi stunted if you planned to do things with the druid grove, I'd consider doing the side quests first rather than jump straight into the mess. You can still be evil for side quests, but also keep in mind that a greater deal of xp is earning through killing and not through quests.

It's a little hidden. Shadowheart actually remarks on some of your evil works commenting "A small child could have burned ___" to the ground Also has a unique and very telling option when opening the book of thay.

Zae...well she disapproves, but still makes comments on the opportunity to kill.

Astarion replies with levity when you talk about certai evil deeds.

Gales....as long as you give him magic items to eat, meh.

All of it is extremely easy to miss, so if you miss it dont worry too much about it.
