Hello,

First of all, thank you for this awesome game. We're already having a lot of fun playing it.

We did notice some gameplay areas that could be made better.
I will try to explain the issues and suggestions.

- Regarding Hiding:

Currently, it's very possible to exploit the Hiding system during a fight.
You attack, move out of the enemy's vision (if you even need to) and go into hiding. The AI then skips its turn, and the cycle continues.

Our suggestions regarding Hiding:

1)
When hiding, the AI should try to reach the last known position of the player and look around, or do an AOE attack on the last known position (or at a random point near it).

2)
'Hide' should be available to use only if you didn't use a normal Action point yet (even-though it costs a Bonus Action and not a normal Action).
It makes sense because if you used an action, you have just announced your position on the combat field. There is attention on you at the moment, and so the 'Hide' button should become disabled.
The Rogue class, however, should have the ability to use 'Hide' even after a normal Action (which is why it's important that the AI will be smarter as mentioned above).
This will differentiate the class better, while not taking away from the arsenal of bonus abilities for all characters.

- Regarding Eldritch Blast:

It might be a good idea to have a Saving Throw on the push-back effect of Eldritch Blast.
Currently it doesn't look like there is a saving throw, and if there is, it's not showing above the attacked character.

Coupled with such a high damage value, it feels over-powered when me and my friend are playing as two Warlocks (without companions).

- Regarding Dice Roll Visibility:

Speaking of Saving Throws, we think it would be much better if dice rolls in general would be more visible in the game.

During dialog, for example, when the speaker rolls for a certain check, the other party members should be able to see the roll (even if it's just a small icon showing the target and then the result).
It would also be great if there were icons of Party Members that are currently listening in to the conversation at the bottom right.

During a Critical Attack, the attacker sees a really cool animation. It would be great if a small version of the splitting dice would appear above that player's avatar picture for all the other party members to see (even if we're not focused on that player in the combat field right now).

During saving throws and checks, it would be really nice to see the result (and target) pop out of the icon (for example, something like "6 (13)" pops out of the icon when you roll a Religion Check).

Thank you for the effort!
All the best.

the changes to hiding compared to 5e baffle me a bit to be honest
hiding is the ultimate defensive move even in 5e it's really strong on rogues

in bg3 you can actually hide in plain sight as a bonus action and if you are unseen, behind cover, fully obscured, or outside of the tiny vision cones you don't even have to roll for stealth

in 5e you have to be unseen, behind total cover, or fully obscured just to attempt hiding as an action. and it's still used all the time!

regarding eldritch blast:
attack cantrips are just too strong right now because ac is low and hp is high.
also the knockback value was increased from 10ft to 15ft

Although it does make sense that any character could hide (with proper disadvantages), the current implementation seems too permissive, that's for sure.

But this is why we play early access. Hopefully things will get more balanced with more updates, even if there are some deviation from the official rules in order to fit a video-game setting.

Flame Bolt hits for 2d4...even when it misses. The lower base damage will probably balance it ...in BG4 sometime. The strength of EB KB is a trifling matter when Shove is a bonus action that can push 4 meters (a lot more in practical terms). A 2-H warrior can reliably hit for 30+ hp per swing in the game and with Pushing Attack even further than either Shove or EB. A ridiculous high magic setting is a strong buff to primarily martial classes.

I agree with the stealth mechanic. For rogues with perks thats okay, or classes that use some kind of cloud action or cloud explosives (like ninjas).

But overall the AI should search for the threat on the last known position.

Maybe this is already kind of in works - or what are those white circles from our characters of there last position?

well in 5e one of the standard actions is the search action.
which apparently just got canned just like the dodge action.

Obviously the AI should be improved to search. Only Rogues (and later, Rangers, I think) should get to hide as bonus action. It should be a full action for anyone else. The Dodge action is going to be in.

That's also a decent suggestion.

Exactly. Yeah, I noticed those circles. Now hoping that the AI will notice them as well hehehe
