If he steps in water even though visually he does not appear to be in any when walking over the gangway in putrid bog, he will drown even if he moves out of water. Turn by turn he gets this wet condition and will eventually just die - even if you move him away from any water

edit [video:youtube]https://youtu.be/ZPX233l_F4M[/video]

normally I don't go out of my way to post video of bug but this was the first time I got really frustrated lol

thanks

I suspected that running water (why just normal spring water more or less is beyond me) would do something to him but the threshold for being by it or out of it is not clearly/visually communicated.

Bug or not, he is basically useless in that entire zone. You can only tell that he is in water, visually, when he takes a step and you see ripples in his steps. Otherwise you have no idea that he's still in water.

He isn't useless, you are very weak if you're wading through the marsh land anyway. You should be going for the high ground advantage, plus in the water there are like a million traps.

Yeah he is pretty useless. I took out both Wood Woads and 1/2 the Mud Mephits with just my rogue perched up on the hill right next to that tree; so yes I understand how high ground works. To get Astarion there would be a huge pain and so I basically had him sit out the entire fight.

Edit: and yes if you stay on the gangway you avoid the traps. I am familiar with that area and you just made an assumption that I just wandered through the mud there. If you watch the video you can see he actually takes damage on the gangway a few feet away from the water. Even if he is sensitive to water, my point still holds that it's not visually accurate. I'm standing on dry wood (at least based on what I'm seeing there) but I'm still taking damage?

but bogs arent running water! the water in bogs are stagnant, which is why they're bogs.
