I met Ethel* at the Teahouse and followed her underground. When I spotted Mayrina in the cage I spotted a strange flower. I couldn't pick it up so I tried tossing it down the slope. Where it landed Ethel* appeared and she was completely passive. I kept backstabbing her as Astarion, he kept failing his stealth checks but combat never started and Esther did nothing. I couldn't talk to her either. Her dying worked as it should've.

Happened to me as well under similar circumstances.
Attacked Ethel in the tea house - she disappears - I kills her crones - go underground - finish the mask wearer - then approach her with a single companion leaving the others behind.
