Randomly I checked the icons when speaking to Volo or the Skeleton guy in the bottom left hand corner. Low and behold both of them have "Trade" icons. You can buy scrolls and potions from Volo and Revify scrolls from the skeleton.... I burned through all my scrolls trying to get the rogue out of moving water... which is very acidic for him but only remember/discovered it after I had him jump into the middle of the swamp... lol
